Kenyan football continues to witness a new generation of talent rising across Europe, Africa, and the United States. The Kenya national football team, Harambee Stars, continues to record an expanding roster of prospects carving their paths abroad.
Led by fast-ascending teenage star Aldrine Kibet, the players plying their trade in countries such as Spain, England, Austria, South Africa and Zambia represent a promising future for the national team.
Harambee Stars prospects playing for international clubs
Aldrine Kibet – Celta Vigo U19 (Spain)
Fresh from his sensational move to RC Celta Vigo in July 2025, 19-year-old Aldrine Kibet has already checked off several major milestones. In November, he earned his first-ever senior call-up to the Harambee Stars for friendly matches against Equatorial Guinea and Senegal in Antalya, Turkey.
“I feel so great. It’s been a dream, and now it’s coming true, so I’m very happy to represent the country and play for Harambee Stars.”
The former Kenya U-20 star made his senior team debut on November 14, 2025, coming on in the 85th minute in a 1-0 loss against Equatorial Guinea. He was an unused substitute four days later in Kenya’s 8–0 defeat to Senegal.
At club level, Aldrine plays for Celta Vigo U19 (Juvenil A), where he enjoys a strong run of form. Since joining the side, he has achieved 3 goals in 2 games (including a brace vs Racing de Ferrol U19) and 2 assists in a 5–0 win over Montañeros U19.

Also, the former St Anthony’s Kitale High School star trained with Celta’s senior team for the first time in November. Kibet is however yet to make a competitive appearance for Celta Fortuna (B team) but has been on matchday squads
His U19 side currently tops their division, and Celta continues to view him as a long-term senior prospect.
Tyler Onyango – Everton / Stockport County (England)
In England, 22-year-old midfielder Tyler Onyango remains one of the most compelling dual-nationality prospects available to Kenya.
On loan at Stockport County for the 2025/26 season, he registered 6 League One appearances and 2 assists
before suffering a hamstring injury in early November that will sideline him into 2026.
Onyango has openly expressed his desire to represent Kenya: “Kenyans are amazing supporters of their national teams. I would love to be part of that journey and give them joy through football,” he said.
He added admiration for head coach Benni McCarthy: “Benni is a coach I deeply admire. His experience is top-level, and it would be a dream to play under someone like him.”

McCarthy, in an interview in September, confirmed contact had been initiated. “Tyler Onyango is a player we contacted… I definitely believe that going forward, he is a player I would love to have in the national team.”
Clarke Oduor – Grimsby Town (England)
Utility winger/left-back Clarke Oduor plays for Grimsby Town on loan and is a full Kenyan international. He scored his first goal for the club in November in a 5–3 EFL Trophy win over Everton U21.
Clement Mutahi-Bischoff – Red Bull Salzburg (Austria)
19-year-old Danish winger Clement Mutahi-Bischoff is one of Europe’s most exciting Kenyan-eligible prospects.
His 2025/26 stats for Salzburg include appearing in 8 Bundesliga games in which he has recorded 1 goal and 2 assists as of December 2, 2025. Signed for reported €4 million from Brøndby in a contract running until June 30, 2029, he is yet to commit internationally.
Job Ochieng – Real Sociedad B (Spain)
Among the quiet but impressive Kenyan performers abroad is forward Job Ochieng, who plays for Real Sociedad B (Sanse), the reserve side of the La Liga club.
Ochieng has shown consistent development in Spain’s Primera Federación 2025/26 season, earning several starting appearances and contributing with goals and assists as he grows into a versatile attacking role.
Considered one of Kenya’s strongest offensive prospects in Europe, the January 2003-born player is widely tipped for a future Harambee Stars call-up.
Zak Vyner – Bristol City (England)
In the Championship, 27-year-old defender Zak Vyner reached a historic milestone in October 2025 when he became Bristol City’s all-time record appearance holder in the league, marking his 219th match.
The defender, eligible for Kenya through parentage, remains open to playing for the Harambee Stars.
“I spoke personally to Zak, and he’s keen to play for Kenya when the time is right,” coach McCarthy said in September.
Vyner has been ever-present in the 2025/26 season, starting all matches and helping Bristol City keep seven clean sheets across competitions.
Amos Wanjala – Athletic Torrellano / Pending Almería Move (Spain)
Kenya U20 captain Amos Wanjala continues to rise steadily in Spain’s lower divisions. Currently with Athletic Club Torrellano, he is expected to complete a transfer to UD Almería in January 2026 once paperwork clears.
Wanjala has trained with Elche CF previously and remains on the radar of the senior national team.

German-born winger Linton Maina remains eligible for Kenya despite having featured for Germany’s U16–U20 teams.

With limited minutes at Köln in the 2025/26 season, he is reportedly attracting interest from Borussia Mönchengladbach and Mainz. A long-term Harambee Stars target, the 26-year-old has yet to commit internationally.
Emmanuel Osoro – Power Dynamos (Zambia)
Forward Emmanuel Osoro, who joined Power Dynamos in July 2025, has made limited appearances, featuring only in one league match. He has also featured as a substitute in 2 CAF Champions League matches.
Osoro previously shone for FC Talanta with 16 goals and 7 assists in the 2024/25 FKFPL season and has featured for Harambee Stars, including the World Cup qualifier against Gambia. In Zambia, he is a teammate of Kenyan striker Moses Shumah at Power Dynamos.
Bruce Kamau – Adelaide City (Australia)
Kenyan-born winger Bruce Kamau accepted a call-up in May 2024 and trained with Harambee Stars but has not yet debuted. Currently playing in Australia, he remains an active prospect for future squads.
Silko Thomas (England)
Thomas Silko Amari is a forward/winger for English Premier League club Leicester City. Born in London to a Kenyan father and Jamaican heritage, he is a prominent Harambee Stars prospect and remains eligible to represent the Kenya national team, though he has not yet received a senior call-up.
The 21-year-old has represented England at various youth levels (U15, U17, and U18) but remains eligible for the Harambee Stars as he has not played for the England senior national team.
