The Israel Defense Force (IDF) has confirmed the elimination of Ahmed Abu Khdeira, the commander of Hamas’s communications unit in the Gaza City area.
According to the defense forces, Abu Khdeira was involved in terrorist attacks on the Israeli troops; therefore, a direct threat to Israel.
“ELIMINATED: Ahmed Abu Khdeira- a commander in Hamas’ communications unit in the Gaza City area. Abu Khdeira was involved in advancing imminent terrorist attack plans against IDF troops and posed a direct threat to the forces,” a statement from the IDF read.
Further, the Israeli troops also eliminated Islam Hisham Riyad Kanita and Mahmoud Hamed Youssef Hamdouna in a strike in Gaza.
The Israeli troops have explained that the eliminated individuals were actively working to rebuild Hamas’ military capabilities despite the ceasefire plan being in place.
Attacks Targeting Gaza Operations
Gaza’s Ministry of Interior issued a statement on Israeli warplanes that were alleged to target a police vehicle in the city center, causing the death of a police officer and injury to at least nine bystanders.
Additionally, the spokesman for Gaza’s Civil Defense, Mahmoud Basal, added that the Israeli fire in the northern Beit Lahiya area and an intersection in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City had also resulted in death and casualties.
Despite the ceasefire plan between the two states, continued strikes have been reported.

IDF operations
In a separate operation, IDF soldiers said they dismantled about 70 Hezbollah-linked infrastructure sites and seized weapons.
Among the weapons seized by the troops were RPGs, Kalashnikov rifles, ammunition, grenades, an anti-aircraft missile, surveillance equipment, and combat equipment.
In addition to the dismantling operation, the Israeli troops also reported killing dozens of militants during the operations.
The dismantling operation followed two failed terror attacks on the Israeli regions by a terrorist cell.
IDF Chief of the General Staff LTG Eyal Zamir, during his visit to IDF troops in southern Lebanon, noted that in Lebanon, Israel continues to strike Hezbollah.
Over 1,700 Hezbollah terrorists since the beginning of the dismantling operation have been eliminated, according to IDF Chief of the General Staff LTG Eyal Zamir.

Hezbollah Attacks on Israel
On April 15, reports by the BBC indicated that Hezbollah launched around 30 rockets in barrages toward northern Israel in several areas, including Kiryat Shmona, Tamra, and other communities.
Hezbollah claimed that it had also launched rockets aimed at 10 locations in northern Israel.
Israel’s air defense confirmed the interception of several rockets and launched strikes against over 200 Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon.
Continued attacks by Hezbollah and Israel continued after Israel and Lebanon held direct talks in Washington aimed at resolving the conflict.
