Russian President Vladimir Putin has strongly condemned the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
In a heartfelt condolence message, Putin has stated the assassination as a violation of international law.
China has also condemned the brutal killing in Tehran, warning that the action could destabilize the Middle East with global consequences.
The condolences come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and growing fears involving the world’s superpowers.
Putin Condemns “Cynical Crime” Against Iran
In a message to the Islamic Republic of Iran, President Masoud Pezeshkian, President Putin described the killing of Ayatollah Khamenei as a “cynical crime” that violated human morality and international law.

“Dear Mr. President, please accept my deepest condolences on the assassination of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, and his family members, committed in a cynical violation of all norms of human morality and international law,” said Putin.
Putin expressed his deep condolences to President Pezeshkian, the family of Khamenei, and the people of Iran, saying the late supreme leader had played a significant role in shaping Iran’s relations with Russia.
“In Russia, Ayatollah Khamenei will be remembered as an exceptional statesman who made an enormous personal contribution to fostering friendly relations between Russia and Iran, elevating them to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership. Please convey my deepest sympathy and support to the Supreme Leader’s family and loved ones, the Iranian government, and the Iranian people,” read the message.
China Urges Restraint, Defends Sovereignty
China’s Foreign Ministry has also condemned the killing of Khamenei, describing it as a serious breach of Iran’s sovereignty and security.
“The attack and killing of Iran’s supreme leader is a grave violation of Iran’s sovereignty and security,” the statement read.
In its statement, China warned that targeting senior leadership violates the principles of the United Nations Charter and basic norms of international relations.

“It tramples on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and basic norms in international relations. China firmly opposes and strongly condemns it. We urge for an immediate stop to the military operations, no further escalation of the tense situation and joint effort to maintain peace and, in the Middle East and the world at large, read the statement.
Netanyahu Calls for Protests in Iran
Speaking from the Prime Minister’s office in Jerusalem, Netanyahu has urged Iran’s ethnic groups to unite in mass protests and overthrow the regime.
Netanyahu has directly appealed to Iran’s ethnic groups, including Persians, Kurds, Azeris, Ahwazis, and Balochs, to use this time to overthrow what he calls the “terror regime”.
“O citizens of Iran, do not let this opportunity slip away. This is an opportunity that comes only once in every generation. Do not sit idle, because your moment will arrive soon. The moment when you must take to the streets, come to the streets in your millions to finish the job, to overthrow the regime of terror that has embittered your lives,” said Netanyahu.
