Qatar Airways has announced the resumption of flights between Doha and several destinations across the Middle East, reinstating daily service to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Syria.
In a statement issued on 23 April, the airline said daily flights to Dubai (DXB) and Sharjah (SHJ) will resume from 23 April 2026, while daily service to Damascus (DAM) will begin on 1 May 2026.
“Qatar Airways announces resumption of flight operations between Doha and key destinations across the Middle East, reinstating daily services to the United Arab Emirates and Syria,” the airline said.
Qatar Airways Outlines Phased Network Recovery and Flexible Travel Options
The airline said the resumed flights are part of a gradual return to full operations across its global network. This follows an earlier announcement in which Qatar Airways confirmed plans to increase its flight schedule from 16 June 2026, with services to more than 150 destinations worldwide across six continents.

Qatar Airways also advised passengers to regularly check its official website or mobile app for the latest travel updates and to make sure their contact details are correct and up to date.
In addition, the airline confirmed flexible travel arrangements for passengers with confirmed bookings between 28 February and 15 September 2026.
These passengers can change their travel dates without paying any penalty to a new date up to 31 October 2026, as long as seats are available and fare conditions apply, when rebooking on flights operated by Qatar Airways.
Customers whose flights are affected remain eligible for additional free changes until the same date.
The airline is also offering refunds for the unused value of tickets, noting that refund processing may take up to 28 working days.
The airline cautioned that flight schedules remain subject to change or cancellation due to operational, regulatory, safety, or other factors beyond its control.
Passengers requiring booking assistance have been directed to visit the airline’s travel updates page on its official website.
“Flight schedules are subject to change or cancellation due to operational, regulatory, safety, or other circumstances beyond our control, stated Qatar Airways.
Middle East Tensions Forced Widespread Flight Suspensions
The recent flight suspensions were largely caused by rising tensions in the Middle East earlier this year.

The conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran escalated, leading Iran to launch drone and missile attacks targeting US interests in the Gulf region.
As a safety measure, several countries, including Qatar, temporarily closed or restricted their airspace.
This forced Qatar Airways to suspend most flights to and from Doha, disrupting travel across the region and affecting routes to destinations such as the UAE and Syria.
The airline scaled back operations, parked part of its fleet, and ran only limited relief and repatriation flights while working closely with aviation authorities.
