Following the Israel and US attacks on Iran, many of the NOTAMs that had closed airspace in the Middle East were set to expire late morning on 1 March.
However, there is a strong possibility that these NOTAMs would be extended after the early morning attacks at Dubai International airports, among other attacks, as tensions are still being experienced.
Some airlines have already started issuing advisories to their travellers informing them of the postponed flights and resumption dates.
In a statement issued on March 1 by Singapore Airlines, the travellers affected by the geopolitical situation in Iran, the US and Israel were directed accordingly.
“Due to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, the following Singapore Airlines (SIA) flights will be cancelled from 28 February to 7 March 2026,” the statement read in part.
The affected flights were:
- SQ494 departing Singapore for Dubai
- SQ495 departing Dubai for Singapore
“As the situation remains fluid, other SIA flights may be affected. Customers may visit SIA’s Flight Status page for the latest information on their flights,” the airline advised.
