CCTV footage has revealed moments when a lioness was spotted jumping over a wall at a home in Rongai on Tuesday, May 21.
The footage seen by The Kenya Times shows the wild cat casually strutting while casing the area, moments before jumping over the wall.
According to the timestamp of the CCTV footage, the lioness was roaming the area at around 9:59 pm.
The lioness triggers the motion sensor light installed in the home when it jumps over the fence, giving a clear view of what happens next. Unfazed, the wild animal jumps into the compound and come back seconds later with a dog trapped between its teeth.
It then casually walks away disappearing into the dark with the dog dangling from its mouth.

Residents of the Elmeut Estate in Rongai have stated that many homeowners had reported cases of their dogs going missing.
Terrified Kenyans have called on the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to take action and cage the animal which could be a danger to the residents of the area.

KWS Earlier Reports on Roaming Lions
The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) in a May 16, statement addressed concerns over three lions sighting near the Lang’ata Women’s Prison.
In response, KWS sent the Problem Animal Control team to the area to conduct a thorough search throughout the night on May 15, when the case was reported.
However, despite their efforts, the team did not find any lions in the area.
“Last evening, Kenya Wildlife Service received reports of three lions allegedly sighted near Langata Women’s Prison in Nairobi.
“In response, the KWS Problem Animal Control team promptly mobilized and conducted a thorough search of the area throughout the night,” noted KWS.
Furthermore, the service asked members of the public to remain on high alert and report any wildlife sightings to the KWS 24-hour hotline number 0800 597 000. for intervention.

Kenyan Couple Wrestles Lioness
Earlier on February 8, a couple from Isiolo sustained serious injuries after wresting a lioness in the forest.
The man narrated that he was walking through the forest with his wife when the lioness emerged from the thicket, catching both him and his wife unawares.
His wife, who was walking behind him was startled and ran in front of him leaving him wrestling the wild animal which he cut with a panga before it escaped back into the forest.
“The lion bit me on my hands, legs, ribs and my back. My wife was walking behind me, so the lioness came to attack her, but she ran in front of me, leaving me exposed to the lion.
“It pounced on me and started scratching me while I was on the ground. I called on my wife to help me,” he narrated.
