The accident occurred in the afternoon near the Potter House barrier in the Runda area.
Police said the motorcycle collided with a Toyota Succeed that was joining the highway from a side road.
Several witnesses on the scene stated the vehicle entered the main road without due care, leading to the crash.
Gustavo died at the scene, while his wife was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.
The deaths have deeply shaken Kenya’s biking community and social media users, many of whom followed Gustavo for his riding content, bike reviews, and commentary.

Gustavo’s Mysterious Message
What has drawn even more attention to the tragedy is a message Gustavo shared on X on February 22, 2026, just weeks before his death.
In the post, he shared a photo of his red motorcycle and wrote:
“I have seen it all, now I can die peacefully in my sleep.”
The post attracted thousands of views and reactions.
After news of his death broke, screenshots of the message spread widely online, with many describing it as chilling and painful in hindsight.
Friends and fellow riders said the post was not unusual for Gustavo, who was known to reflect openly on life and achievements.
However, its timing has left many unsettled, with some riders saying the message shows how fragile life is, especially for those who ride high-speed roads.

Tributes Pour in for Gustavo
Tributes have poured in from across the country, especially from social media and Gustavo’s wide fanbase.
For many in the biking community, the phrase “helmet down” has taken on a deeper meaning as they mourn one of their own.
Fellow bikers have described Gustavo as passionate, humble, and supportive of new riders, among many tributes in his numerous social media posts.
Many recalled how he openly encouraged others, shared safety advice, and celebrated milestones in the local biking scene.
Gustavo’s journey into motorcycling began several years ago on a modest bike, and he gradually moved up to larger machines.
He later became a motorcycle dealer and rode bikes from different countries and manufacturers.
His recent purchase of the Ducati was seen by friends as a symbol of how far he had come.
Several riders have also used the tragedy to call for better road discipline and caution among both motorists and motorcyclists.
They pointed to the Northern Bypass as a section of road that has seen multiple serious accidents due to speeding, illegal U-turns, and poor lane discipline.
