A loaded truck has been involved in an accident with multiple vehicles including a saloon car at the Haile Selassie Roundabout on Uhuru Highway in Nairobi.
The accident caused a traffic snarl up along the Uhuru Highway as motorists were left stranded.
However, the driver of the saloon car is reported to have escaped without a single scratch.
Further reports indicate that the trucker driver lost all brakes and was looking for somewhere to bring his heavily loaded truck to a stop. The truck was from Sabaki Sacco.
Video footage seen by The Kenya Times showed the aftermath of the collision, with the truck overturned and resting on its side atop a white saloon car.
The front of the saloon car was heavily damaged, with the hood crushed and the windshield shattered.
Furthermore, the truck’s front end was also damaged, and its undercarriage could be seen visible as it rested on the car.
Some bananas could be seen scattered on the ground indicating that the truck was transporting them.
The impact of the accident was severe, as another green SUV was seen in a ditch on the side of the road, partially off the ground and leaning at an angle.
Similarly, a blue hatchback car also involved in the accident could be seen with left side of its rear section heavily crushed, with the bumper hanging off and the metal framework exposed.
