Former Tetu Member of Parliament (MP) Francis Thombe Nyammo is dead.
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula made the announcement through a statement on his X page.
With deep sorrow, I have learnt of the passing of former Tetu MP, Hon. Francis Thombe Nyammo.
Wetangula described him as a distinguished leader who was committed to the welfare of his community members.
He sent his condolences to Nyammo’s family, friends and residents of Tetu constituency.
He will be remembered for his distinguished service, leadership, and commitment to community welfare. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the people of Tetu. May his soul rest in peace.
Geoffrey Wandeto Condolence
Tetu MP Geoffrey Wandeto described his predecessor as a mentor and close friend.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing on of Francis Thombe, FT Nyammo, former MP for Tetu,” Wandeto said.
Nyammo had a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, History and Political Science.

He went on to become a prolific academic and astute businessman serving in leadership at the National Bank of Kenya, Kenya Reinsurance, as Chairman of Longhorn Publishers, and Chancellor of Inoorero University.
His service and impact earned him national honours, including the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW). On 4th March 2023, during the Tetu Professionals Dinner graced by former DP Rigathi Gachagua, we honoured him for his immense contributions — a moment I will forever treasure. Tetu and Kenya have lost a giant. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Rotary Club Karen Mourns Thombe Nyammo
He was a member of the Rotary Club Karen.
The Club’s President Linet Ayuko said Nyammo died on Sunday morning at the age of 86.
Nyammo, was nicknamed “FT”-short for Fun Times within the Rotary family as
Ayuko said the former legislature will be celebrated for his service and leadership, warmth, generosity, and unwavering commitment to the fellowship.
“PP FT Nyammo was more than a Rotarian to us-he was a pillar of strength, a source of joy, and a true gentleman whose laughter and wisdom lit up every room. For many years, he walked faithfully beside us, shaping Thee Club with his generosity, love for service, and unwavering fellowship. Truly, he blessed us with his presence,” Ayuko said.
