Diaspora Principal Secretary (PS) Roseline Njogu has announced how Kenyans can apply for the foreign jobs in Germany.
Speaking on Wednesday, September 18, Njogu said the applications can be in three different ways, but the main one will be through a German-owned website.
The PS said the jobs will be advertised on a German government website called makeitgermany.com.
“The jobs in Germany can be accessed using these links: 1 https://make-it-in-germany.com/en/ 2. https://deutschland.de/de/arbeiten-in-deutschland,” a statement from the State Department of Diaspora Affairs said.
PS Njogu said the comprehensive migration and mobility Partnership Agreement creates a framework for the diaspora jobs in Germany.
She explained that the opportunities are open to foreign labour and Kenyans can start by visiting the websites to secure placement.
“On the website, you can find a lot of information about what jobs exist, then you can search by journalist, city or such kind of things. These opportunities are open to foreign labour, then you can start from there,” she said.
Njogu said there is a part where on the websites where Kenyans can search and apply for the jobs as an individual and many people have benefited from this.

She also mentioned that Kenyans can work with German recruiters in Kenya to get jobs.
The PS said they held a meeting between Kenyan and German recruiters adding that a number of Kenyans have already secured jobs.
“A number of Germen recruiters will have the jobs on the national employment authority website,” she said.
Additionally, she stated that there a number of Kenyans diaspora owned recruitment businesses where Kenyans who live and work in Germany recruit from Kenya because they understand both markets.

However, she maintained that one must be a skilled worker or somebody whose profession is recognized to get the jobs.
She also revealed that German companies will come to Kenya on September 27, 2024, to recruit workers.
The PS said the government will create more programmes within the diaspora placement agency which is owned by the state department of foreign affairs.
This she explained will enable the state department to structure the recruitment programmes in future.

Njogu Supports Germany Jobs
She explained that the agreement with Germany will also streamline issues like recognition of Kenyan skills, Kenyans accreditation, Kenyans certificates and more.
“We have done work on attempting to time different sort of TVET institutions, where we say there’s this TVET somewhere in Kirinyaga and an institution in Bremen. How can we make these two works together so that there is co-learning, co-teaching, exchange programs,” she said.
Njogu said there a lot of young people in Kenyan colleges, while in Germany, companies are in desperate need of workers since the populations in our two countries are different.
“Why work in Germany? Because you get to find a good job, a good wage or salary, new experiences. But we are looking at in terms of skills and technology transfer,” Njogu said.
