KeNHA Announces Closure of Road for 2 Weeks

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced temporary closure of a section of Ruiru-Tatu City-Kiambu Road.

In a statement on Saturday, December 21, said the road will be closed at a section between Kirigiti Roundabout to St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

KeNHA said the road will be closed for 14 days and provided alternative routes for motorists.

“KeNHA would like to inform the public that Ruiru – Tatu City Kiambu (B115) Road will be temporarily closed at a section between Kirigiti Roundabout to St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.”

“The closure will commence on Monday December 23, 2024, Midnight to Monday January 6, 2025, 1800hrs.”

All traffic will be diverted through Kirigiti – Rui Stage Junction – Kiambu Town as an alternative route during this period.

KeNHA said that this closure will facilitate the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the road section to ensure seamless connection, in line with the Authority’s mandate.

The Authority also advised motorists to exercise caution during the closure and follow the provided traffic guidelines during the closure.

Further, KeNHA instructed motorists and other road users to cooperate with police officers stationed at the work zones.

“Motorists are requested to exercise caution around the work zones, and to follow the proposed traffic management plan below as well as cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site,” KeNHA said.

KeNHA Nairobi-Nakuru Highway Traffic Advisory

This follows an earlier travel advisory for motorists using the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway on Friday, December 20.

KeNHA noted a surge in traffic volumes along the Rironi – Naivasha – Nakuru (A8) Road and the Rironi – Mai Mahiu – Naivasha (A8S) Road.

As a result, the Authority advised motorists traveling these routes to exercise patience and maintain lane discipline for their safety and that of other road users.

The Authority stated that it is collaborating with traffic police to provide necessary guidance and traffic control to ensure a smooth flow, helping motorists reach their destinations safely and without delays.

Alternative Routes

Motorists are also informed of alternative routes as indicated below.

i)Naivasha-Njabini-Olkalou-Dundori-Lanet-Nakuru.

ii)Flyover-Njabini-Olkalou-Dundori-Lanet-Nakuru.

iii)Ngong-Suswa-Narok-Mau Narok-Nakuru.
