Nyamira County Impeach Speaker
Nyabaro has been serving as the acting speaker since the suspension and subsequent impeachment of former Speaker Enock Okero.
Okero was impeached on October 24 after he was sent on a two-week suspension as the Assembly instituted an Adhoc Committee to look into the allegations that he was facing.
During the voting, 24 MCAs supported the impeachment motion against Okero while 11 abstained.

Okero faced accusations of sabotaging assembly motions, particularly those aimed at ousting Governor Amos Nyaribo.
His impeachment followed a month of tensions between him and the MCAs.

MCAs accused Okero of deliberately obstructing crucial assembly business, specifically targeting motions aimed at holding the county’s executive accountable.
Additionally, he faced accusations of mismanaging the County Assembly Service Board, which he chairs, with some members alleging that key services had been derailed under his leadership.

Governor Survives Impeachment
The County Service Board was sent home over failure to submit financial reports at the end of every three months, as required by the law.
Okero’s ouster came after Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo survived an impeachment motion tabled against his at the County Assembly.
Nyaribo narrowly escaped impeachment after 22 MCAs supported the motion, while 12 voted to save him.
He survived with just one vote, as the total votes cast to impeach him fell short of the minimum threshold of 23.
