President William Ruto has warned politicians advocating for regional politics and the disunity of the country.
Speaking on Sunday, September 1, Ruto encouraged Kenyans to support the unity calls noting that the leaders who want to divide the country will fail miserably.
“Those who want to preach to us ethnic, parochial, regional politics will not succeed in this country because Kenya is a country that trusts in God,” he said.
“Every leader, at whatever level, must understand and appreciate that we are leaders for the people of Kenya.”
Speaking about his Nyanza trip, Ruto expressed amazement at what God can do, noting that it’s almost miraculous how people who were on opposite sides just a few months ago are now speaking as if they’ve been long-time friends.
“That is the beauty of our country: when circumstances demand, we close ranks as a people, forge alliances, build bridges as Kenyans, and work together for the greater good of our nation,” he said.

Additionally, Ruto pledged to work for all Kenyans without discrimination or exclusion, as required by the Constitution.
He explained that it is also God’s will for him to work with all politicians and the people of Kenya.
“I will do whatever it takes to ensure that this country is united and that no part of Kenya is left behind as we march into the future. It is our collective responsibility as leaders to walk in that direction,” he said.

Ruto Addresses Kenya Kwanza Supporters
Ruto also asked Kenya Kwanza leaders and supporters not to worry about his working relationship with Raila Odinga and ODM.
“I know some people who voted overwhelmingly for this administration may have questions. I want to tell you that God designed this country in a way that allows all of us to belong,” he said.
The President said Kenya can achieve more if people work together rather than in disunity.
“Whatever resources we have in Kenya, if we work together, we can bake a bigger cake that can satisfy all of us. So, nobody should worry about the unity of Kenya. In fact, if there is any concern, it should be about disunity, if at all. That should be the focus,” Ruto said.
