Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is today( Friday) expected to make his maiden trip to Kisumu since his election
Gachagua will be in the Lakeside City to grace the Gala Awards for the 94th Kenya Music Festival at Kisumu Girls High School.
Gachagua will be accompanied by Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha and other top ministry officials.
The festival started Saturday last week and featured learners from ECD, primary, secondary, colleges and university across the country.
Kisumu Girls, Kisumu Boys and Arya Primary schools played host to the festival.
The Kenya Music Festival made a comeback after a two-year break occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic
The DP will be representing his boss President William Ruto who is out of the country on official duties.
Earlier President Ruto had been scheduled to grace the gala.
Kisumu is the political homeground of ODM leader Raila Odinga
Gachagua’s maiden trip out of the capital city after his swearing in was to Mombasa where he graced the induction workshop of governors and their deputies.
While in Mombasa Gachagua also met and held talks with position leader Raila Odinga
