Baringo Deputy Governor’s wife Lornah Kipng’ok has revealed that her husband left their Elda Maravine home in high spirits.
The Deputy Governor Charles Kipng’ok left his home on Wednesday September 14 for Nairobi, where he collapsed and died in a KQ plane headed to Mombasa for the Council of Governor’s Induction Summit.
“It is saddening that we lost him in such circumstances, yet he had not complained of any sickness,” said Lorna
“My husband left our Solian home on Wednesday saying he was heading for Nairobi and was in high spirits,” said Mrs. Kipng’ok.
Family and friends on Thursday said they heard of Mr. Kipng’ok’s death via social media.
David Biegon a family friend, stated that the wife and friends were together in the evening when they saw the news on Facebook and WhatsApp.
“It was a very unfortunate incident, especially the way his demise was received by the family, who were on their own with no one to comfort them,” Said Biegon.

The Deputy Governor’s death was a shock to Baringo residents who flocked his home after his demise to mourn with the family.
The neighbors said he was a good friend and leader and they had lost a good soul.
“We have lost a great friend, a neighbor, and an astute leader. We were together with him a week ago when he attended a burial ceremony in Solian, and he did not show any signs of illness. We have known him to be an unrivalled manager, generous person and a philanthropist who helped all and sundry,” said one of the neighbors.
Mr. Kipng’ok’s elder brother David Tomno stated that plans of his burial were underway and praised him for the milestones he had achieved in the tea industry.
“Kipng’ok is my younger brother, and he has played a major role in mentoring most of the family members, having been a manager at a tea company for a long time. We were elated when he was appointed as Governor Cheboi’s running mate and we saw this as an honor not only to him but also to us as a family. We are still in shock that he died so soon,” said Mr. Tomno.
