A traffic police officer lost part of his lower teeth after a motorist landed on him with blows
The middle-aged driver assaulted the traffic police officer in Embakasi on Wednesday.
According to a police report, the motorist became violent after he was instructed by the officer to stop blocking other motorists.
Peter Okemwa had blocked other road users after he wrongly parked his vehicle on the road.
The traffic officer Erustas Makenda instructed him to remove the vehicle from the point but he instead came out of the vehicle and insulted the cop.
“While controlling traffic near the Total Petrol station in Embakasi, CPL Erastus Makenda instructed the driver of a Mercedes motor vehicle registration number KCC 885U to remove the vehicle from where he had parked as he was obstructing other users.
“ He did not move and instead came out and started assaulting the officer,” a police report read.
“In the process, he hit the officer with a fist on the mouth resulting in the loss of his front lower teeth,” the police report added.
Reinforcement was called in and the driver was arrested and escorted to Embakasi police station where he was locked.
The officer was rushed to Nairobi West hospital where he was treated and discharged in a fair condition.
