Nairobi Regional Police Commander Adamson Bungei has arrested several suspects along the Museum Hill interchange following an uproar by motorists.
In a video seen by The Kenya Times, the police boss alongside other officers ambushed the men who were hiding at a nearby bush along the road.
About nine suspects were matched in a single file with cuffs on, as officers led them out of the thicket. The suspects included three men who were captured on video stealing from motorists.
Also, Bungei is seen questioning one of the suspects who was wearing a red jacket, similar to the one captured in the viral video.
The arrest came hours after uproar from Kenyans over a gang that was stealing from unsuspecting motorist stuck in traffic after heavy rains on March 27.
Kenyan motorists lamented that the rising cases in daylight robbery along Nairobi Roads was alarming calling on the National Police Service (NPS) to take immediate action.

Uproar After Video of Daylight Robbery
In the March 27 video, the three men attacked a motorist and made away with an unknown item into a nearby bush.
Further, motorists online responded to the video by calling for a crackdown on the youth who had turned the roadside bushes into their homes.
They advised one another to keep their car windows closed while in traffic jams to avoid falling victim of the gangs.
At the same time, Brendan Audi, a user on X, lamented that he had seen a similar incident around Chiromo area adding that the motorists who was robbed followed the thugs into the bushed with his gun.
“About two weeks ago, there is a guy who was driving a Lexus whose side mirror was stollen by some men. he packed his car be the roadside, put on the hazard indicator and came out of the vehicle with a pistol. He followed the guys into the bush,” he narrated.

NTSA and Police Crackdown on traffic Rules Violators
The arrest came as the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) continued its crackdown on traffic rules violators including pedestrians and motorists.
On March 26 and 27, the authority arrested pedestrians who failed to cross the road at the designated crossing points, including footbridges and walkways, in order to ensure their safety.
“In light of recent incidents and to prevent further accidents, it is imperative that pedestrians utilize designated crossing points. We are committed to enforcing traffic laws to protect the lives of all road users, including pedestrians,” the authority indicated in a statement.
