The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has urged first-time loan applicants to prepare all required documents before the application portal opens.
In a statement on June 16, HELB announced that first-time applications would open soon and advised applicants to use the waiting period to organize all necessary information before the submission period begins.
“First-Time Applications will be opening soon. A little preparation now can save you a lot of time later,” the statement read in part.
The board emphasized that early preparation would save time and reduce last-minute challenges, noting that applicants should follow official channels for updates on the portal opening.

According to Wahome, the detailed placement messages are expected to be sent out by July after the placement process, validation, and approvals by the Ministry of Education are completed.
“Once we finish the process, you will now get another message by July telling you exactly where you have been placed,” she said.
She explained that students will then be able to log in to their respective university portals within two days to download their admission letters.
The KUCCPS CEO noted that the funding application process will require students to provide household and personal details that will determine how much support they qualify for under the government’s funding model.
She urged applicants to provide accurate information and ensure all required sections are filled correctly.
