No one ever anticipates the loss of a loved one, yet the aftermath often leaves families, especially those from low-income backgrounds, burdened with financial responsibilities.
Many are forced to organize fundraisers among friends and relatives, even creating WhatsApp groups to meet funeral expenses.
Despite these efforts, some families still struggle to cover the high initial costs.
However, establishing the Kenyan Urban People Association (KUPA – KENYA) has helped bridge this financial gap, easing the burden for many.
About KUPA KENYA
Kenyan Urban People Association (KUPA) is an association that caters to the welfare of the Kenyan people living in the urban and rural set-up.
It has rendered its services to Kenyans for the last 15 years.
KUPA- KENYA recognizes its member’s attachment to their beloved one at the time they are bereaved therefore they work towards providing a decent send-off to members and the family covered.
Its vision includes facilitating/assisting financially challenged Kenyans to get empowered in the event of unforeseen eventualities.
Its mission includes strengthening and consolidating self-confidence, empowering and building the capacity of Kenyans for sustainable development, and protection from exploitation through pooling of resources together.
Services that KUPA KENYA offers
KUPA KENYA offers a range of services, particularly for funeral arrangements.
To begin with, they organize the transportation of the body from the mortuary to the final resting place.
Moreover, they offer an executive coffin for the deceased, and at the same time, provide a trolley for it.
Furthermore, they handle the clothing of the body, ensuring it is appropriately dressed.
For the funeral setup, KUPA KENYA supplies a gazebo tent and 200 plastic chairs for attendees, ensuring a comfortable space for mourners.
