Ogweno Stephen is a Kenyan health innovator who is primarily know for his role as the founder ad CEO of the Stowelink Inc, a health organization in Kenya established way back in 2015.
Stowelink was among the very first organizations in Kenya to focus on the issue of non-communicable diseases and young people and has gone ahead to have a global impact implementing 7 major projects across 10 African countries reaching over 10 million lives.
However, since 2020 Ogweno has been carefully curating his next frontier in health innovation and he set his sights on Rwanda as a starting ground. In 2021 Ogweno Stephen together with his co-founder Peace Iraguha co-founded Lifesten health which is a multi-award-winning health startup.
Ogweno Stephen serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Lifesten health while Peace Iraguha serves as the Chief Operating Officer. Together these two continue to drive the innovation in the health space forward through Lifesten health.

Lifesten health as a company aims at helping people adopt healthy behavior through incentive-based health programmes and the introduction of remote diagnostics for non-communicable diseases. Simply put, Lifesten health rewards people for being healthy.
In the last quarter of 2022, Ogweno Stephen and his cofounder recently raised 250,000 USD in grant funding to be able to implement Lifesten Health’s work in Kigali Rwanda.
These were raised through winning the Hanga Pitchfest and The Novartis Foundation CV challenge for improving cardiovascular health. In one interview Ogweno Stephen stated that this is just the beginning and that Lifesten health won’t stop until the continent is safe from non-communicable diseases, and that people have the power to take control of their health.
Ogweno continues to advocate for innovation especially in the healthcare and especially in the non-communicable diseases space. Because these diseases continue to be the leading killer diseases globally accounting for 3 our of every 4 deaths globally and account for over 55% of all hospital admissions. Its innovators like Ogweno Stephen that will lead the continent towards achieving sustainable development goals.
