The Director of East African Breweries PLC (EABL) has resigned with immediate effect, marking the latest leadership change at the company.
In a notice dated August 4, the Company Secretary, Angela Namwakira, announced changes to the Board of Directors following the resignation of Hina Nagarajan as a director.
According to the company, Nagarajan’s resignation took effect on August 1, 2026, after serving on the EABL Board since August 4, 2025.
“The Board of Directors of East African Breweries PLC hereby announces the resignation of Ms. Hina Nagarajan as a Director of the Company with effect from 1st August 2026,” the notice stated.
EABL Board Commends Hina Nagarajan
The company’s Board of Directors thanked Hina Nagarajan for her service and contributions during her tenure on the board.
It acknowledged that she made vibrant and insightful contributions to board deliberations and participated actively in meetings of the Nominations and Remuneration Committee.
EABL also acknowledged her commitment to consumers and the community during her time as a director.
“The Board takes this opportunity to thank Ms. Nagarajan for her vibrant and insightful contributions in the deliberations of the Board as well as in Nominations and Remuneration Committee meetings, and for her exemplary commitment to consumers and the community,” the board stated.
The board wished Nagarajan success in her future endeavors following her resignation.
Nagarajan Educational Background
Hina Nagarajan completed her school education at Modern School, Vasant Vihar, in New Delhi.
She later earned a Diploma in Hotel Management from the Institute of Hotel Management, Pusa, New Delhi.
Nagarajan also studied at Delhi University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com).

Further, she pursued management studies at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad), earning a postgraduate diploma in management (MBA equivalent).
Career Life
Hina Nagarajan began her career at Nestlé India, where she spent about 14 years working in marketing, with a focus on infant nutrition and dairy products.
She later held senior leadership positions at Mary Kay India and Reckitt, building experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
In July 2021, Nagarajan was appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of United Spirits Limited, a position she held until March 2025.
She became President of Diageo Africa in April 2025, before being appointed Executive Director and Vice Chairperson of East African Breweries Plc (EABL) in August 2025.
EABL Reports Strong Half-Year Financial Results

According to EABL’s Half-Year 2026 financial results, the brewer recorded net revenue of KSh75.5 billion for the six months ended December 31, 2025, representing an 11 percent increase compared to the same period a year earlier.
The company reported a 38 percent rise in profit after tax to KSh11.2 billion, supported by 8 percent volume growth, improved pricing and product mix, and lower finance costs.
EABL also announced an interim dividend of KSh4.00 per share, up from KSh2.50 paid during the corresponding period last year.
The financial results further showed that the company’s debt reduced by approximately KSh2.2 billion, reflecting continued efforts to strengthen its balance sheet.
