The ICT Authority on Tuesday, September 12 announced 400 internship opportunities for university graduates.
In an advert, the authority said it is targeting graduates from 2021 for the Presidential Digital Talent programme (DigiTalent) before October 3, 2023.
Further, the notice said interested applicants should have attained First Class or Upper Second-class honours from a recognized institution.
Also, youth who are awaiting graduation can provide a recommendation letter from the university indicating the honours to be awarded.
According to the ICT Authority, it intends to fill four hundred vacancies under the program in the following categories:
- Network and Digital Infrastructure -150
- Software Development and AI -100
- Information Security -50
- Multimedia (Graphic Design) and Digital Marketing -50
- Data Analytics -50

Basic Requirements for ICT Authority vacancies
- Must have graduated and attained First Class or Upper Second-class honours from a recognized institution in the last two years.
- If awaiting graduation (till Dec 2023), the applicant must provide a recommendation letter from the university indicating the honours, either First or Second-class Upper to be awarded.
- Be an Unemployed Kenyan youths between 21-29 years.
- Should not have undertaken any other internship programme in the government.
- Should be willing to be deployed to any government organization and be ready to work in any of the 47 counties on full time basis.
- The graduate must have thorough knowledge in their core areas of specialization.
- Females, persons with disability and graduates from ASAL regions are encouraged to apply.
About DigiTalent
The Government launched the DigiTalent program in 2015 to offer job opportunities for the ICT graduates that match with their training.
Additionally, it is a public private partnership program.

Through the Digitalent, the Kenyan government can offer graduates a chance to develop ICT skills as it grants them internship opportunities for 12 months in both the public and private sectors.
Additionally, it is the objective of the Digital Talent programme to develop high-end ICT skills among fresh graduates and give them a chance to promote ICT innovation and solutions in development

Moreover, the ICT Authority directed applicants to apply online and attach relevant documents through this link https://digitalent.go.ke/.
“Incomplete applications will not be considered and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted to attend the interviews,” read part of the notice.
