Nyamari Ongegu, famously known as Nyanshinski, was born on April 8, 1984, in Kisii, Kenya and is a known rapper and songwriter.
Nyashinski, whose full birth name was Inyatta Nyamari Ongegu, announced legally through a gazette notice that he had abandoned his first name, Inyatta, and instead opted to use Nyamari Ongegu only as his official full name.

He attended Nairobi School for his high school education. In 1999, he co-founded the now-influential group “Kleptomaniax” together with Collins Majale (Collo) and Robert Manyasa (Roba).
After high school, he was enrolled at Kenyatta University, where he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning and Management.
The group ‘Kleptomaniax’ later signed with Ogopa DJs label and went on to reveal their first single “Freak It” and more loved songs like “Tuendelee” and “Haree”.
In 2006, his family got an opportunity to relocate to Delaware, USA, where he worked as a truck driver for a decade.
Music never left him because as he was there, he kept recording songs in the studio and shared ideas with Collo and Nameless, who also visited him while he was in the USA.
Music Career
In 2016, he returned to Kenya to continue his music dream and dropped a series of successful songs, including the hit gospel song “Mungu Pekee” and the love song “Malaika.” In 2020, he dropped his debut solo album “Lucky You”, consisting of 12 songs.
Nyashinski has won some awards in his career, which include the Pulse Music Video Award for “Now You Know” in 2016 and the East Africa Arts Entertainment Award for Best Legendary Artist in 2022.
Relationship
Nyashinski tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend, Zia Jepkemei Bett, on November 1, 2019, in a private wedding in Itigo, Nandi County.
She is a fashion designer and the CEO of her own clothing line, Zia Collection. They later welcomed their first child in 2020, whereby Nyashinski confirmed publicly through a social media post expressing gratitude for the most precious gift.
