Kenyan businesswoman and musician Esther Akoth alias Akothee, has responded to a section of Kenyans on social media who suggested that she should limit her actions on social media.
In a statement on Sunday, November 17, Akothee criticized Melanchtone Anzala, a Facebook user, who had condemned her for sharing a photo of herself kissing her lover, Nelly Oaks.
Akothee went ahead to compare her behaviours to that of Anzale stating that she was better off.
The musician wondered why the user was attacking her, yet he was also doing the same things although in private.
She defended their actions arguing that Anzale should let her enjoy life and conceive like he already did with his wife.
“Sasa wewe na mimi nani ako na tabia mbaya, I have been kissed on camera ,wewe bibi yako ushamtia mimba tayari , sasaaa si hata sisi uwache tutafute mimba style yetu? Nyinyi ni wa usiku muonekane mchana, sisi ni wa mchana na usiku tuko bisi,” she wrote.
This loosely translates to, “Now, between you and me, who has bad behaviour? I have been kissed on camera, and your wife is already pregnant. So, should we also not find our own way of getting pregnant? You all are for the night and the results come out during the day, while we are for the day, and at night we are busy.”
Akothee Attacks Those Trying to Dictate Her Life
Akothee explained that other people should determine how she lives her life.
She stated that she is not afraid of anybody and even referred to Anzale as a coward.
“People should stop trying to dictate how others live their lives. I am not afraid of anybody, I will abuse you properly,” she said.
Another user, Kelvin Benjamin, commented that Akothee should stop arguing with her fans since she is now an ambassador terming it as primitive.
However, the musician said she can’t stop since communication is a two-way traffic.
“Communication is a two-way traffic Ambassador wa nini?” she asked.

On Saturday, November 16, Akothee shared photos of her trip to Uganda for the Nyege Nyege Festival.
This was followed by a photo of the lovebirds enjoying a dance in Uganda.
She accompanied the photos with a heartfelt caption dedicated to Nelly Oaks.
“I am his side chick, main chick, hen, girlfriend, wife, baby mama, and others for now,” she said.

Akothee reflected on events from 2023 and how Oaks came to her rescue when others revelled in her pain.
“Last year, around this time, my world was falling apart. Women celebrated my pain, men insulted me, and people laughed at us. Today, we are still alive—some can’t imagine I survived,” she said.
The musician emphasized that she will not shy away from sharing her life on social media.
“Live life as if today were your last day on earth. I will live my life both on and off-camera. This is it—enjoying life with the Chairman at the Nyege Nyege Festival in Uganda,” she said.
