Celebrated radio Presenter Alex Mwakideu made a u-turn on Monday, August 14 after announcing his departure from Milele FM.
According to the celebrity presenter who has been with the Mediamax-owned outfit for five years, there was some misunderstanding.
However, Mwakideu did not explain the cause of the misunderstanding and if he held talks with his employer. “
Yooh, I am still at Milele FM. I did not know you loved me this much… Thank you for all the phone calls and text messages, we had a small misunderstanding, which has been sorted. So, we are now good to go! Milele forever!
Mwakideu announces exit
Earlier in a statement Mwakideu took to social media, thanking Kenyans for being part of his journey.
“It’s been 5 years at Milele FM. I have enjoyed. Let me say thank you to you, the Listener, because without you, there is no radio! You are the reason we do this thing called Radio,” Alex Mwakideu wrote.
Furthermore, Mwakideu thanked his colleagues at the station however, he did not disclose his next move leaving Kenyans in suspense.
“Page closed. Onto the next one! Guess where we are heading next….” the radio presenter’s tweet read.
This marks 23 years in the media since he begun in the year 2000.

Who is Alex Mwakideu
Mwakideu is a household name in Kenya’s radio industry. He shot to fame after working at the Standard Group‘s Radio Maisha.
He launched his media career when he joined the Mombasa-based Baraka FM where he honed his skills as a talented radio talent.
In 2010, he had his biggest breakthrough in his media career, when he joined Radio Maisha, a move that would set the stage for eight successful years with the Mombasa-Road based channel.
His spirited contribution to radio and ability to captivate a large audience saw his str shine brighter, becoming among the much-sort-after radio personalities in the country.
In 2018, the zestful broadcaster hit another milestone, joining Milele FM. This marked a new chapter in his journey, allowing him to further expand his reach and influence as a radio celebrity.
