Luo singer and songwriter Coster Ojwang’ has been signed to Sol Generation Publishing Label.
Sol Generation announced on Wednesday that Coaster had joined the label in a welcome note.

“Welcome Coster Ojwang’. We are stoked to announce that Coster Ojwang’ has inked a three-year publishing admin deal with us. Looking forward to the journey ahead,” stated Sol Generation.
Coster is known for his storytelling skills and cultural authenticity. His tracks blend traditional African rhythms with contemporary themes giving them a unique edge.

His famous songs include ‘Nyakachieng’ Ting’amalo Wabiro and Oguyo which have amassed over 1.5 million streams on Spotify.
Besides music, Coaster is also a contemporary impressionist painter. His work mainly captures the African culture and community. He uses art to celebrate tradition, resilience, and innovation.

Coster went to Mwangaza Art School in 2015 where sharpened his skill in contemporary impressionists. His works provoke thought and open spaces for conversations.
Born in Andingo, Mogori County, Ojwang’ states that his experience growing up in the village has made him aware of his roots. After moving to the city, he felt the need to bridge the gap between the two settings through his music.

Kodong Klan
“This sense of awareness gives me clarity. By becoming more urban, our approach to towards life has become individualistic. You get reminded of how Kenyans are loving an generous when you go to the countryside,” stated Ojwang’ in an interview.
Coster is also a member of the music collective ‘Kodong Klan’. The group has released hit after hit in their album titled ‘Kodon Klan’. One of the songs ‘Disco’ has achieved over one million views on YouTube.

Other members of the ‘Kodong’ Klan include Okello Max, Bensoul, Charisma, Moldecai Dex, and Watendawili.
Members of the Sol Generation label include Polycarp Otieno, better known as ‘Fancy Fingers’, Christine Obala, and the now split boy band Sauti Sol.
Sol Generation has been part of the production of several hits including Nairobi and Navutishwa by Bensoul. It has also produced songs by Nvirii the storyteller, Okello Max, and Wanavokali.
