Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana has for the first time disclosed how a foreigner made him a poor man.
Mungatana revealed a conman introduced him to a get rich quick scheme which saw him lose over KSh 100 million.
Narrating his ordeal before a Nairobi court on Thursday, October 6, Mungatana said their first engagement was successful as he gave out KSh 500,000 and it was doubled in a very short span of time.
Seeing that this could be a legit business, Mungatana then gave out another KSh 5 million.
This time, his money was doubled to KSh 10 million and he was happy.
Well, things changed the third time since he invested heavily but lost the money to the man he had been dealing with.
According to Mungatana, the conman called him with a good business deal.
The politician was asked to give out KSh 100 million so that it can be doubled, to make KSh 200 million.
Danson Mungatana revealed that he did not have the money but did everything possible to raise it.
The Kenya Times has learnt that he had to sell his family home in Karen which was worth KSh 70 million.
He also had to borrow some amount from friends and family members, without mentioning the sale of his shares at some companies.
The politician then handed the money to the foreigner in cash, hoping to get it in double after six months.

According to Mungatana he knew he was going to get the money, pay back whoever he owes and still remain with a big share of the money.
He insisted that the foreigner did not exhibit any signs of a conman since he lived like a king, with several servants at her beck and call.
His compound was also filled with expensive cars, to indicate he was a man of means who could not steal anyone else’s money.
However, things took a downward spiral when Mungatana started looking for the man after the agreed six months in vain.
The Senator disclosed that was the genesis of his poverty.
Mungatana held he had lost his home, money and even his marriage was ruined by the same.
He insisted that the court should find the man guilty and jail him to save other unsuspecting Kenyans who might become his victims should he be let free.
Thank God Mungatana managed to bounce back financially and even clinched the Tana River Senatorial post.
