Kenyans on Social Media React to Prezzo
Following the incident, a section of Kenyans online has reacted to the incident with a majority criticizing the manner in which the first responders handled the incident.
Popular blogger Cyprian Nyakundi on his part while wishing the rapper a quick recovery, criticized the lack of awareness in medical emergencies.
“These are the kinds of misguided attempts to intervene in medical emergencies that often result in fatalities.
There is a pervasive lack of awareness and preparedness in basic lifesaving techniques among the Kenyan public,” he said.
Another social media user Mboya Seth wondered why Bahati set up such an event without medics on the ground.
“How did he pull a function without having stand by medics on the carpet and in the show?” he questioned.
Osama Otero emphasized on the importance of first aid classes and ambulances being on standby in events citing that how they handled Prezzo was risky.

“First Aid lessons should be compulsory. Event organizers should have ambulances on the ground. Whatever happened to Prezzo was risky. Somebody having seizure then you’ll hear someone say, “oh my God” yet they don’t have a clue of what she is supposed to do… but the phone has a though,” he said.
YoungStanohkha2 expressed concerns over people prioritizing taking videos and pictures over saving lives.
“Nowadays people prefer taking videos and pictures while someone dies instead of helping,” he remarked.
