Kenyans Call for an End to Road Rage
The incident has sparked reactions from Kenyans who have raised concerns over increasing cases of road rage in the country and attacks on police officers.
While some people called for new regulations to allow traffic police officers to be armed, others have opined that it would only escalate the cases.
“Another female traffic officer has been assaulted. Given the current circumstances, it might be wise to consider arming our traffic police officers to better protect their well-being,” former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko stated.
On the other hand, Steeve, a use on X, noted that some of the officers did not know how to handle civilians and often ended up fueling the rage.
“That will not be wise at all sir! I believe the officers should be trained on how to handle citizens because most of the times the only language they understand is intimidation and the few who they can’t intimidate are the ones who are beating them up,” the user said.
