Muoma’s Death
Dorothy Muoma Nasimiyu, from Nakalira Village, Kitale, Trans-Nzoia County, was born at Lang’ata Barracks on 1st December 1971 and died on February 3 after struggling with mental health challenges and homelessness.
According to a eulogy shared during her sendoff, she had battled several health challenges and conditions necessitating frequent hospital visits and stays.
In January 2026, Dorothy was admitted to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MRTH), where she was treated for severe
Sepsis in her left leg.
It was during this time that her hemoglobin levels remained too low, even as medics conducted regular blood transfusions. On the fateful day, her family said she had requested food but fell asleep before eating.
“Unfortunately, upon waking, she experienced severe nausea and subsequently began to vomit. This turn of events escalated rapidly, prompting rapid intervention from her doctors. Despite their efforts to resuscitate her, Dorothy’s condition worsened, and by 7:30 PM, she was declared unresponsive,” the eulogy read in part.
