The Kenya Meteorological Department (Kenya Met) has shared a five-day weather outlook for the period between September 21 to September 25. According to the forecast, most parts of the country are likely to remain generally dry.
However, occasional rainfall is expected in some areas, including the highlands east and west of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, and the Coast.
On Saturday, September 21, the highlands west of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley will experience sunny intervals in the morning followed by showers and thunderstorms over few places in the afternoon.
According to the weather department, there will be showers over few places in the night in the above regions. On temperatures, these areas will have maximum temperatures of 32°C and lows of 08°C.
The conditions are expected to remain the same for the following four days up until September 25, 2024, except for a slight temperature variation of 01C for some days.
Counties in the named regions include Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot.
Weather Predictions for Nairobi & Its Environs
Different parts of Nairobi yesterday, September 20, experienced moderate rainfall after a period of dry weather in September.
According to the forecast, highlands east of the Rift Valley including Nairobi County Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka and Nairobi Counties, will have cloudy mornings breaking into sunny intervals on Saturday.
In the afternoon, the Kenya Met predicts a chance of showers over few places and sunny intervals in some areas.
The nights of September 21 and September 22 will have chance of showers over few places while September 23 to September 25 nights will be partly cloudy.
Maximum temperatures for Nairobi and its environs will range from 29°C to 30°C with lows of 05°C to 07°C.

Northeastern Counties
North-eastern counties of Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo will have sunny intervals in the morning and afternoon while the nights will be partly cloudy.
However, maximum temperatures will be 38°C with lows of 15°C to 16°C.
South Eastern Regions
South-eastern counties of Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta will have sunny intervals in the morning and afternoon for the five days with nights being partly cloudy.
Maximum temperatures in this area are predicted to be 32°C on September 21 and 31°C for the following four days while minimum temperatures will be 10°C for September 21 and September 22 and 11°C for the following three days.

Coastal Regions
The coastal counties of Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale will have a chance of showers over few places in the duration between September 21 to September 23 in the morning and showers over a few places on September 24 morning.
However, the coastal counties are likely to experience sunny intervals on the morning of September 25.
Residents in the coastal counties are expected to experience sunny intervals in afternoons of the five-day period, with the exception of September 24 when the Met department predicts chances of showers in the afternoon.
However, nights in these areas will be partly cloudy. Maximum temperatures for the five days in coast will be 31°C with lows of 22°C.
