Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has found herself in the spotlight yet again after a video captured her using a mobile phone for a long period during a live parliament sitting.
Nyamu was among the senators who were attending a sitting at the Senate Chambers.
In the video seen by The Kenya Times that has since gone viral, the nominated Senator can be seen busy on her phone while Nakuru Senator Tabitha Keroche was making her submission.
Unaware that the camera projected towards Senator Keroche was also capturing her, Nyamu was seen unbothered as she scrolled through her phone.
Subsequently, another member attending the seating who was not captured by the video seemingly alerted her that she was being projected.
Upon the alert, the nominated Senator was seen shocked to find out that the live camera was capturing her as she scrolled through her phone.
The video has since gone viral with a section of Kenyans online calling out Karen Nyamu for the conduct.
A user named Captain Korir claimed the nominated Senator has been doing everything off the radar.

“Karen Nyamu should be doing something else. She seems to have found herself in parliament mysteriously. Everything she does is off the radar,” reacted Captain Korir.
Another user said it was high time the National Assembly and Senate banned phones in the chambers to avoid such incidences.

Following the viral video, Kenyans online also brought back another controversial video involving Nyamu back in February.
The nominated Senator found herself on the fix after encouraging a motorist to defy traffic rules at a road in Nairobi while recording herself as she ordered the driver to use the wrong side of the road.
Kenyans also likened the incident to that of a Super Metro driver who was charged in court on March 6, 2024, for a similar offense.

The driver was charged after he was captured driving recklessly and making a U-turn on the busy Thika Superhighway.
He was charged alongside his conductor and released on a Ksh1 million bond with an alternative cash bail of Ksh300,000.
A user named Dennis Adison Ouma while comparing the two incidences said senator Nyamu needed to suffer the same for committing a similar offense.
“Karen Nyamu must also be charged for instructing her driver to drive on the wrong side of the road last month here in Nairobi. This country will not tolerate traffic impunity by citizens or political leaders,” he said.
