As 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates await the opening of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) application period, it is important to understand the cut-off points for various courses.

This will help applicants secure a spot in their preferred courses and institutions.

Cut-off points refer to the weighted cluster points of the last student admitted into a particular programme during placement.

Cut-off points are not set by KUCCPS or universities beforehand, as they are determined solely by student applications and course capacity.

With limited slots and high competition, some students miss out on top-tier institutions or competitive programs—not because they failed, but because they fall short of the required cutoff points.

Some courses have relatively lower cut-off points compared to others, offering opportunities for students with average cluster scores.
