The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) sets specific subject requirements and cut-off points for students seeking a Bachelor of Education in Science degree.
The Bachelor of Education (Science) is designed to produce professionally qualified teachers with competence-based skills to teach the sciences in selected two-science course combinations at the high school and tertiary levels.
In addition, the graduates will be equipped with the relevant knowledge and skills to further their studies and conduct research in their respective scientific fields.
Admission and Subject Selection
To gain admission into the Bachelor of Education program, an applicant must pass the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum mean grade of C+ or its equivalent.
Alternatively, the applicant may hold an advanced-level certificate with two principal passes and a Division II at O-level or its equivalent.
Applicants with a diploma in education from a government-recognized institution must also have a KCSE mean grade of C+ or its equivalent.
Students seeking a Bachelor of Education (Science) degree select from various subject combinations as prescribed by the Teachers Service Commission.
These include Chemistry and Biology, Chemistry and Physics, Agriculture and Biology, Agriculture and Chemistry, Agriculture and Geography, Biology and Geography, and Home Science and Agriculture.
Other combinations are Home Science and Biology, Physics and Computer, Mathematics and Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, Mathematics and Physics, and Mathematics and Business Studies.
Additional options include Mathematics and Geography, Mathematics and Computer, Biology and Business Studies, Business Studies and Geography, and Chemistry and Business Studies.

KUCCPS Bachelor of Education Science Cut Off Points for All Kenyan Universities
For students seeking admission into the Bachelor of Education (Science) program in 2024, Kenyatta University leads with a cut-off of 36.268, followed by Moi University at 36.325 and Maseno University at 35.16.
The University of Nairobi (UoN) comes next with 35.542, while Egerton University and Kisii University require 36.557 and 34.361 points, respectively.
Mount Kenya University and Kabarak University have cut-offs of 34.755 and 34.757, while Masinde Muliro University of Science & Technology sets its cut-off at 32.547.
The University of Eldoret admits students with 32.693 points, alongside Machakos University (31.346), University of Kabianga (31.422), Pwani University (30.148), and Chuka University (30.456).
Kenya Methodist University requires 31.76 points, with Rongo University at 28.567 and Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology at 27.392.
Catholic University of Eastern Africa stands at 31.537, Laikipia University at 28.815, and Karatina University at 30.118.

Tom Mboya University requires 27.997, while Bomet University College admits students with 34.848 points.
Koitalel Samoei University College, Alupe University, and Maasai Mara University have cut-offs of 28.732, 28.016, and 31.612, respectively.
Tangaza University and Kaimosi Friends University accept students with 27.326 and 28.778 points, respectively.
South Eastern Kenya University accepts students with 22.682 points, and Lukenya University accepts students with 27.25 points.
Murang’a University of Technology accepts students with 22.425 points; Turkana University College accepts students with 22.627 points; and Tharaka University accepts students with 22.853 points.
