Board changes
The Nairobi Hospital CEO vacancy declaration comes after KHA, which manages the hospital, announced leadership changes to its Board of Management earlier in January.
KHA Board of Management chairman Dr. Chris Bichage in a notice on Friday January 10, announced the appointment of Felix Osano as the acting CEO following the exit of James Nyamongo as KHA boss upon expiry of his contract.
Felix Osano was the Director, Supply Chain within the hospital until his appointment as acting CEO.
Prior to the expiry of Nyamongo’s contract as KHA boss, he had been suspended by the board.
“Mr. James Nyamongo exited the organization as the Chief Executive Officer of the KENYA HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION (KHA) /THE NAIROBI HOSPITAL effective 6th December 2024 upon expiry of his contract. We wish to thank Mr. Nyamongo for his service and wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” the notice reads in part.
Nyamongo was suspended in November indefinitely days after he was sent on compulsory leave following an approval by board members representing KHA who voted in favor of the decision.
Dr. Bichage in a letter dated November 30, 2024, directed that the then embattled CEO does not return to the office until the board advised accordingly.
