The Deputy Presidential debate has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 19.
According to a statement released by the Presidential Debate Secretariat, the debate will be carried out in two tiers.
It will start at 5pm with aspirants whose popularity rating based on three recent opinion polls is less than 5 per cent. Tier two will start from 7pm to 10pm and will include candidates who garnered above 5 per cent popularity rating according to opinion polls.

“Under the presidential debate rules, the moderators will select the questions to be asked and shall not share the same with candidates,” said Clifford Machoka, Head of the Presidential Debate Secretariat.
Moreover, the deputy presidential debate will be held at the Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA).
The Head of the Presidential Debate Secretariat Clifford Machoka reported that invitations for the debate have already to all candidates for the deputy president post.
Furthermore, the much anticipated presidential debate has been scheduled for July 26.
In addition, these debates have been organized jointly by the Media Owners of Kenya (MOK), Media Council of Kenya (MCK) and the Kenya Editors Guild (KEG).
Moreover, the organizers urged all aspirants invited to the debate to participate so as to allow electorates understand their agenda.
However, deputy president William Ruto had earlier on vowed to keep off the debate claiming that the media of had been bias.
Nonetheless, a new survey by the Media Council of Kenya shows that DP Ruto has currently been enjoying more media coverage at 46 per cent than his main competitor Raila Odinga of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya who got 45 per cent in the past week.
Meanwhile, this will be the third televised presidential debate in the country. The First one was held in 2013 whereas the second one was in 2017.
