The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has released a five-day weather forecast for the period between Friday, March 14, and Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
In its forecast, Kenya Met stated that several parts of the country will remain dry. However, some areas are expected to receive heavy rainfall and isolated thunderstorms.

In addition, occasional rainfall is expected over several parts of the country towards the end of the forecast period.
These regions include the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, and the Highlands East of the Rift Valley (Nairobi and its environs).

Counties in the named regions include Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot.

In the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, some areas will receive showers, especially in the afternoons and nights.

Mornings are expected to be rainy for the first part of the forecast period, while the rest of the mornings will receive showers of rain.
Kenya Met warned that the minimum temperatures will fall to as low as 8°C minimum while maximum average daytime temperatures will rise to 35°C.
Rains over a few places accompanied by showers are, on the other hand, expected to prevail throughout the week in the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley region.
Coastal regions
The Coastal counties of Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale Counties as well as the coastal parts of Tana River are expected to experience daylong sunny intervals.
Kenya Met said that some areas will experience morning and afternoon showers from Sunday to Tuesday. Nights are expected to be partly cloudy and showers from Saturday to Tuesday.
The average maximum daytime temperatures are expected to rise up to 34°C while the minimum night-time temperature will be as low as 22°C.

South-Eastern Parts
In the South-eastern lowlands covering Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, and Taita-Taveta counties as well as the inland parts of Tana-River County, Kenya Met predicts that the regions are expected to experience sunny intervals only on Friday and Saturday.
The counties in this region will, however, receive rain from Sunday to Tuesday during the day and at night.
The average maximum daytime temperatures are expected to rise to 34°C while the minimum night-time temperature will be as low as 13°C.

Other regions
At the same time, Kenya Met said that rains alternating with sunny conditions are expected during the day in Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Isiolo, Turkana and Samburu counties.
However, the counties could experience partly cloudy and Shower weather in several places in the night with a maximum temperature of 39°C and a minimum of 14°C.
Additionally, strong southeasterly winds, exceeding 25 knots (12.9 m/s), are likely in parts of Northwestern and Northeastern Kenya.
