A woman identified as Florence Wanjiku alias Shiku was stabbed multiple times by her boyfriend, a renowned Nakuru businessman and church leader Elias Njeru who’s currently on the run.
The victim, Florence Wanjiku, is currently receiving treatment at Optimum Current Care Hospital in Nakuru.
According to a police report obtained by The Kenya Times, the incident was reported by a male resident of Kiamunyi who was informed of the attack meted on Shiku in the wee hours of Friday, November 22.
“That today 22/11/2024 at around 0330hrs, he got information that his colleague namely Florence Wanjiku Gichohi female adult had been attacked,” read part of the Police report.
“She was rushed to Optimum current health care Hospital where she has been admitted and found with several stab wounds.
Police Reveal Details of Florence Wanjiku After She Was Stabbed
According to the report, police officers from Menengai Police Station rushed to the scene and proceeded to the hospital where the victim Wanjiku had been taken.
It was established that the victim, Florence Wanjiku, was visited by her boyfriend, Elias Njeru Mutugi, who is also her business associate at their rental house in Olive.
Both are directors of Indigenous Land Properties Limited.

The report further revealed that the two engaged in a quarrel, which escalated, leading to the perpetrator stabbing Wanjiku on the head and hands.
“The two had some domestic quarrels, resulting in the accused stabbing the victim severally on the head and hands,” the report states further.
“The victim is currently admitted at the said hospital in a serious condition.”
Elias Njeru on The Run
The police stated that a team was immediately dispatched to track Elias Njeru, and they expect results as soon as possible.
Leaders in the country, among them Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, have condemned the incidence while calling on investigative authorities to apprehend the perpetrator and ensure justice is served.

“I wish to condemn the tragic incident in Nakuru, where a man attacked his wife over a domestic dispute. Whatever the disagreement, we should never resort to violence. Gender-based violence has no place in our society,” Waiguru noted in a statement.
“I also pray for Shiku’s healing & quick recovery.”

Ruto of Femicide Cases
This comes after President William Ruto on Wednesday November 2o President William Ruto committed Ksh100 million towards the Safe Home, Safe Space Campaign that seeks to end femicide cases across the country.
Speaking at State House after a meeting with women leaders, the president said that the campaign would entail 16 days of activism beginning November 25, 2024, to voice against gender-based violence.
