Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s look-alike has sparked debate among Kenyans online due to their striking physical resemblance.
In a video circulating on Kenyan social media, Rigathi’s lookalike is seen at an outdoor event wearing a cowboy hat and a checked shirt, smiling and interacting with people.
During the outdoor event, a citizen recording asked the lookalike to state the opposition slogan ‘Wantam ’, after which those around expressed surprise at the similarity.
According to members of the public, his facial features resemble Rigathi’s, with some arguing he could pass for a younger version of the former Deputy President.
“This guy looks like Gachagua, DCP; this is Gachagua. Why do you look like Gachagua? I did not know DCP was coming,”a member attending the outdoor event stated.
In response to the look-alike comments, the Seattle Rigathi noted that he was in Seattle as a representative of the Wantam movement.

Public Reactions to Gachagua’s Look-Alike
Some members of the public have questioned the possibility of the two having an ancestral linkage or similar DNA.
Further, some speculated that the look-alike was the reason why Rigathi visited Seattle from time to time, alleging that he might be his hidden son.
In 2025, Gachagua had made several visits to Dallas, California, Seattle, Boston, and Baltimore for social forums and meetings with the Diaspora community.
According to the public, Rigathi should align his will to cater for his younger self, with some explaining that Rigathi’s wife, Dorcas, should investigate the reasons behind the resemblance.
Given the resemblance, some jokingly said President Ruto should not come across as the Seattle Rigathi, referencing the current political tension between the two and adding that Ruto could not handle the pressure from double Rigathi.
Following the circulation of the lookalike, individuals have noted that, based on the earlier reported lookalikes of Rigathi, the man from Seattle is more similar to Gachagua.

According to residents of Homa Bay, Otieno was nicknamed Gachagua because of his resemblance, which Kenyans spotted in TikTok videos circulating on social media.
During a church service, Rigathi was photographed with an unknown man who resembled him.
American businessperson and politician Tim Scott was dubbed the Riggyverse, meaning a version of the DCP leader.
According to the public, Rigathi and Tim both have bald heads, sharp eyes, chubby faces, and wide, toothy grins.
