Safaricom Appoints Anthony Gacanja New Network Director

Safaricom plc has appointed Anthony Gacanja as their new network director beginning 19^th of June 2023.

Gacaja was serving as the director of Information Technology at the Central Bank of Kenya before his move to the telco company.

At Safaricom, reporting to the Chief Technology and Information Officer, Gacanja will be responsible for the design, build, rollout, performance, and enhancement of all network infrastructure.

“His primary focus will be delivering a superior quality of service to Safaricom customers. He will also be responsible for managing the delivery of existing Information System Services and the implementation of new systems,” Safaricom said in a statement.

Gacanja previously worked at Safaricom as Head of Department, Technology Security, and has gained numerous experiences in information technology governance and operations, cyber security, information risk assurance, and software development.
