Safaricom has launched a new data product dubbed BLive Data Bundle, a time-based bundle designed to give customers more freedom when browsing.
The bundle was officially unveiled on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the Michael Joseph Centre, Safaricom House. According to the telco, the new package was developed after feedback from customers who wanted more value and a worry-free browsing experience.
“Customers told us they wanted bundles that allow them to browse without fear of running out of MBs or GBs. With BLive, you don’t have to worry about data volumes—you just buy the bundle and browse as much as possible within the set time,” said Puneet Pagare, Customer Value Management Lead at Safaricom PLC, during the launch.
Unlike traditional MB/GB-based bundles, BLive is purely time-based and is tailored for all customers, whether students, casual users, or heavy internet consumers.
Speaking at the event, Fawzia Ali Kimanthi, Chief Consumer Business Officer at Safaricom, said the introduction of the BLive Data Bundle was driven by customer feedback.
“Today is an important day for us. Why is this important? It’s because our customers have spoken, and we have spent a lot of time trying to see what we can do to give them a solution that meets their needs. As you have seen, this is a bundle designed for very specific needs.
You are not going to buy this bundle if you are looking for one that will last a month—you will buy it because you want to do something for an hour, three hours, or even six hours,” she explained.
How BLive Bundles Works
The newly launched Data Bundle is available to all Safaricom prepaid and postpaid customers.

The Bundles can be purchased via USSD codes *544#, *555#, *444#, *200#, the mySafaricom App, or the Safaricom website.
The bundles will have different validity periods based on customers’ usage.
- Ksh20 = B-Live for 1 Hour
- Ksh30 = B-Live for 1.5 Hours
- Ksh50 = B-Live for 3 Hours
- Ksh60 = B-Live for 2 Hours
- Ksh75 = B-Live for 4.5 Hours
- Ksh150 = B-Live for 6 Hours
Other Key Details of the Newly Launched Data Bundle
- Bundles purchased do not extend the validity of existing data bundles.
- Customers can purchase multiple worry-free bundles throughout the day.
- The bundles cannot be shared (Sambaza).
- Balance can be checked via USSD 54444# or the mySafaricom App.

- Bundles can only be purchased on a “Buy for Self” basis.
- Tethering or hotspot use is not allowed with BLive bundles.
