U.S First Lady Jill Biden unveiled the menu and performances lined up for President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto for a State Dinner at the White House on Thursday, May 23.
President Ruto will become the sixth world leader to be hosted a State Dinner at the White House.
Speaking during a media briefing, First Lady Jill Biden indicated that the elegant dinner will be hosted under the stars, in a pavilion made almost entirely of glass, looking up at the sky.
Additionally, she said that the interior will be decorated with warm pinks and reds.

“Tomorrow night, we mark the 60th anniversary of the United States’ partnership with Kenya with an elegant dinner under the stars, in a pavilion made almost entirely of glass, looking up at our one sky.
“While, outside, night surrounds us, inside, guests will be brought together over the glow of candles, in a space saturated with warm pinks and reds,” she said.

Menu Ruto Will be Served at White House
Further, the US first lady indicated that every detail of the State Dinner had been thoughtfully planned by different top government officials and celebrity event planner Bryan Rafanelli.
Comerford, the White House executive chef, and Morrison, the executive pastry chef, will be taking care of the culinary diplomacy.
President Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto will be served a chilled gazpacho-style soup of heirloom tomatoes, Vidalia onion and cucumber with sourdough crisps to start.
It will be followed by fruitwood-smoked beef short ribs and butter-poached lobster, accompanied by a citrus butter, plus baby kale and sweet corn puree.
Moreover, the dessert served will be a white-chocolate basket cradling nectarine paste and banana ganache as well as raspberries and peaches.

Performances During the State Dinner
Jill Biden also announced that there will be performances to honor President and First Lady Ruto’s love of Gospel and Country music.
Therefore, Howard Gospel Choir and the award-winning artist Brad Paisley, are set to entertain the guests during the dinner.
As guests leave, their paths will be illuminated by the moon. According to the US first lady, it is meant to engulf the guests with the warmth she received during her visit to Kenya.
“I hope they will be filled with that same warmth I felt on my visits to Kenya – that of a friendship that will endure, helping create a shining and prosperous tomorrow.
“While, outside, night surrounds us, inside, guests will be brought together over the glow of candles, in a space saturated with warm pinks and reds,” she added.
