A man identified as Benjamin Anganga Okumu has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by Bondo Magistrate’s Court after he was found guilty of defiling his 15-year-old daughter.
The 36-year-old criminal, who appeared before Magistrate S.W. Mathenge, had been accused of defiling the minor, who happens to be his biological daughter in May 1, 2020 in Ramba Village within Rarieda sub-county.
He was additionally charged with indecent assault of the minor by touching her private parts.

According to the victim, she was alone in their sitting room watching television when her father came to her dressed in a pair of shorts. She further told the court that her father started caressing her, then forcefully took her to the bedroom where he undressed her while warning her to keep quiet. He then raped her repeatedly.
Furthermore, in mitigation, Benjamin asked for forgiveness and pleaded for leniency on grounds that he was the sole breadwinner for his family, and that they would suffer if he is jailed.
Nonetheless, the magistrate made his verdict and gave him 20 years imprisonment, saying the sentence will serve as a deterrence. Benjamin has been give 14 days to appeal in case he is not satisfied with the ruling.
