The governments of Russia and Mauritius have announced scholarship opportunities for Kenyans. In a notice on October 28, the Ministry of Education noted that it is in receipt of scholarships being offered by the government of Russia to Kenyan citizens.
According to the ministry’s notice, the scholarships are to enable students from Kenya to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate as well as Russian language preparatory courses.
“The Ministry is in receipt of communication from the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Nairobi informing that the Russian Government is offering scholarships Kenyan Nationals for the 2025/2026 Academic Year.
The Russian Embassy in Kenya had earlier in the month announced the launch of scholarships for Kenyans for the academic year 2025-2026.
In the advert, the Embassy called on Kenyan citizens to register, complete an application form, and apply by the set deadline.
“Competitive selection of candidates for Russian government scholarships for the academic year 2025-2026 has been launched!” part of the statement read.
Russia scholarships for Kenyan students
The program provides a unique opportunity for applicants and young professionals to receive a quality education at the country’s leading universities.
At the time, the Embassy urged interested candidates to visit the Russian education platform, education-in-russia.com to complete an application.
At the online platform, the various levels of education candidates intend to pursue were highlighted, comprising of postgraduate studies, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, assistantship internship, residency, and specialty and secondary vocational education.
The platform also has various fields of study one intends to pursue which include Military Administration, Humanities, Healthcare and Medical Services, Engineering Technology, and Technical Sciences.

Other fields of study include Arts and Culture, Mathematical and Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Education and pedagogical sciences, and Agriculture and Agricultural sciences.
Candidates were also required to fill other details while registering on the education portal.
At the same time, the education platform outlined the process for admission to a Russian university.
To participate in the competitive selection of the scholarship exercise, candidates have been urged to visit the Ministry of Education’s scholarship scheme website.

The deadline for the submission of application is 22 November 2024.
Mauritius Scholarships
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has announced that it is in receipt of communication from the Embassy of the Republic of Mauritius informing that the Government of Mauritius offers to award scholarships to Kenyan students.
According to the ministry, Mauritius if offering fifteen scholarships to deserving Kenyan students in the level of Undergraduate, master’s and PhD for 2025 academic year.
To participate in the competitive selection of the scholarship exercise, candidates have been urged to visit the Ministry of Education’s website and Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Mauritius website.
The deadline for the submission of application is 28th February 2025 at 5.00 P.M.
