Inua Jamii programme beneficiaries are set to receive the April monthly stipends following the release of KSh 2.4 billion to 1.2 million Kenyans by the Kenyan government.
In a statement on Thursday, April 30, the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizens Affairs confirmed that the KSh2.4 billion has been disbursed to cover the April monthly allowances.
Additionally, the department clarified that the payment was to be made to approximately 1.2 million Kenyans, including senior citizens and persons living with disabilities, under the Inua Jamii program.
“The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, through the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs, has released KSh. Two Billion, Four Hundred and Twenty Six Million, One Hundred and Thirty Two Thousand (KSh. 2,426,132,000) for payments to 1,213,066 Older Persons and Persons Living with Severe Disability enrolled in the Inua Jamii programme,” part of the statement dated April 30 read.
Each beneficiary of the program is expected to receive KSh 2,000 covering the monthly allowance for the April 2026 cycle, with payment commencing today, on April 30.
As part of the government’s social protection strategy, the Inua Jamii Cash Transfer Program aims to promote the well-being of vulnerable members of society.
How to Claim Monthly Allowances
Beneficiaries can access the money via the USSD code* 222#.
To withdraw the money, dial the USSD from a registered phone number and select the Inua Jamii option.
After selecting the option, follow the prompts to withdraw at an M-Pesa agent or send the money to another number, then enter their PIN to complete the transaction.
Alternatively, the funds can be deposited directly into the beneficiary’s Inua Jamii bank account opened during enrolment, and withdrawals can be made through bank branches or ATMs.

Inua Jamii OPCT Eligibility
Kenyan citizens aged 70 and above are eligible for the Older Person Cash Transfer (OPCT). To qualify, they must present a valid Kenyan National Identification Card (ID).
Additionally, beneficiaries should not be receiving any other form of pension from any source or formal employment, as priority is given to the most vulnerable.
Senior citizens enrolled in other Inua Jamii cash transfer components cannot apply for benefits under the OPCT.
In addition, the person must have lived in the residence in the area of application for at least one year before the application.

Persons with Severe Disabilities Cash Transfer (PWSD-CT)
The application for the PWSD-CT component is open to members with severe disabilities who live in poor conditions.
Applicants are required to provide a valid disability assessment and a registration certificate from the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD).
If a caregiver is available, they must provide an ID and not be listed as a beneficiary in the PWSD-CT program.
Registration for the program incurs no fee and can be done through the Sub-County Social Development offices by filling in the application form provided there.
Applications undergo community validation and vetting to confirm eligibility and avoid duplication.
