The national bar owners association has moved to defend Keroche breweries in its tussle with the Kenya Revenue Authority.
Addressing the media in Nakuru the associations Secretary General Boniface Gachoka said the closure of Keroche has affected their business greatly
Gachoga said his members are missing 20% of their products on counters due to the closure
“The result has been sacking of employees by retailers and distributors across the country, “said Gachoka
He noted that at least 263 Keroche distributors have been rendered jobless because of closing down of the company.
The association called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to intervene and solve the stalemate
“Let Keroche be given time to renegotiate the tax deal with KRA,” Gachoka equipped.
Gachoka further warned that some 4000 people risk losing their jobs directly and indirectly should the stalemate persist.
