Elite businessman Ashok Doshi has been released on Ksh 500 thousand cash bail after pleading not guilty to five criminal counts from a fraud case involving a prime land in Nairobi.
Ashok is being charged with intent to defraud the government of Ksh 1.2 million, by forging a stamp duty receipt between May 14th and September 2nd, 1992.
He is charged with fabricating a stamp duty receipt in the second count that claimed to be issued and signed by a commissioner of lands.

In addition, the businessman is charged with forgery and making a disturbance against Greenview Lodge Ltd, the legitimate owner of the land at Processional Way.
Mr Doshi was charged alongside his company, Magnum Properties Ltd, and the prosecutor wanted the court to issue summons against third accused Harit Sheth.
The businessman denied the charge and he and his company were both granted Sh500,000 cash bail.
The crime is believed to have taken place in Nairobi at Ardhi House.
