The much awaited Nairobi Gubernatorial debate is set to take place today.
The debate will take place at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) from 5 to 10pm.
Nine candidates are expected to face off in the much-awaited live event.
Nairobi governorship Candidates have been divided into two tiers of least and most popular candidates according to opinion polls.
Those Expected to take to the podium include Johnson Sakaja, Polycarp Igathe, Ann Kagure and Dennis Kodhe.
Other candidates are Esther Waruga, Cleophas Kiio, Harman Singh Grewal, Kenneth Nyamwamu and Nancy Wambui.
The first-tier debate will run from 6 pm to 7:30 pm.
It will be moderated by moderated by journalists Serfine Achieng’ Ouma of KBC and Ayub Abdikadir of K24.
Candidates for the second-tier debate will take the debate podium from 8pm to 9:30 pm.
The second-tier debate will be moderated by journalists Zubeida Koome of KTN and Mark Masai of NTV.
The event is set to be broadcast live across a number of TV and radio stations across the country.
Sakaja(UDA) and Igathe(Jubilee) are considered the top contenders in the race.
