Charlene Ruto has responded to the online debate and controversy surrounding her ‘Office of the First Daughter’
Charlene who is the daughter of President William Ruto and First Lady Rachael Ruto on Tuesday, December 13 introduced members of a team that works with her at the said office during a summit held in Arusha, Tanzania.
Since Kenya does not have an Office of the First Daughter in the constitution, Charlene’s remarks drew mixed reactions from Kenyans online and became a subject of discussion on Wednesday, December 14.
Nonetheless, Charlene, through a statement issued on Wednesday afternoon, said the office of the first daughter is a “private entity” which runs on the support of “facilitators” and not State funds.
