President Uhuru Kenyatta has responded to Kenya Kwanza coalition’s recent attacks.
The Kenya Kwanza Camp during their recent campaigns have asked the head of state to stop interfering in their political affairs.
Nevertheless, President Uhuru told the camp to stop dragging his name into their campaign trails. He then added that they should instead focus on drumming up support for their bid.
The head of state made his remarks on Sunday, July 31, after officially commissioning the Nairobi Expressway.
“Campaign for yourself and leave me alone. I am doing my job, I finish, you go and ask for votes, if Kenyans vote for you it is okay, if they don’t we go home together where is the problem. The world will still go on.” Stated President Uhuru.
Moreover, the president responded to criticism from DP Ruto over his support for Raila Odinga, saying that he has the right to choose whom he supports as far as the presidential poll is concerned.
“Everyone, including myself, has the freedom of drumming up for the people they want. But the people of Kenyans have the final say there is no need for sending threats,” he stated.
Likewise, president Uhuru Kenyatta urged leaders to keep the peace in the run-up to the August general election.

“Let us be calm, let us do the right thing and let us tell Kenyans what we shall do for them.” He added.
Furthermore, the president and his deputy have had disagreements in recent weeks, primarily over who is to blame for the Jubilee 10-year tenure’s wins and losses.
Besides, the argument heightened, with Ruto criticizing president Uhuru for supporting his political rival Raila Odinga despite previously rallying behind him in the 2013 and 2017 elections.
